Cotherstone Village Hall

[bg_faq_start]

The Village

Cotherstone is a delightful Dales village that has grown from an agricultural community and has been designated as a conservation area in order to help protect its character. It is bounded on two sides by the Rivers Tees and Balder with open moorland to the west. The village has a school, three places of worship (Anglican, Methodist and Quaker), two pubs (one offering food and accommodation) and a village shop and post office.

The Hall

Cotherstone Village Hall was built in 1883 as a Temperance Hall but has undergone much modernisation in recent years to provide three comfortable and well-heated rooms plus kitchen and toilet facilities, as well as a flexible stage complete with high-quality lighting. The size and layout of Cotherstone Village Hall make it an ideal choice for both private and business functions, meetings and concerts. Regular activities ongoing in the hall include Parents and Toddler Group, Teesdale Flower Club, Teesdale Day Club, Over 50s club, Thursday Club, U3A Music Group and Teesdale Players. The meeting rooms are also used by the Parish Council and the Teesdale Branch of Cancer UK. Cotherstone Village Hall has attained Hallmark level 3.
