The Village

Startforth is built on the banks of the Tees and is only metres due south of Barnard Castle via the County Bridge or two pedestrian bridges. The village overlooks Barnard Castle and has lovely views of the town and the castle.


The Hall

Startforth Morritt Memorial CE Primary School is also the community centre for the village. Due to this fact the school can only be hired for private or business use outside of school hours.

The school is available for hire for:

• Meetings/Seminars
• Social Events
• Fairs and Sales
• Rehearsals
• Training
• Functions
• Parties
• Sports Classes

Regular activities ongoing in the hall include bridge, ladies keep fit and Brownies.

Heating: Available throughout hall

Maximum Capacity: 120 approximately

Facilities: The school kitchen only allows for limited use. Toilets are accessible to all.

Equipment: The hall has adequate chairs and tables and there is ample crockery and a small amount of cutlery available. The hall also holds bridge tables.

Parking: There is adequate roadside parking available.

Directions

From Barnard Castle go over the County Bridge and turn right. Take the first left, signposted Bowes and travel up the bank past Deerbolt. Take the second left into Stainmore Close. Go through the estate and take a right at the T junction over the bridge. You will then come to a fork in the road, take the left hand turning and you will be at the school.
