Cumbrian Printmakers workshop : Carborundum/Collagraph with Penny Hunt
Using carborundum grit and collagraph techniques of scratching, scoring and cutting you will develop a printing plate. Once sealed the plate can be inked, wiped and printed numerous times and in a variety of ways. Multiple prints will then be taken using oil based inks on a printing press.
Penny is a painter printmaker who also prints onto hand built ceramics using relief printing bocks or coloured slips to monoprint onto the surfaces, etching into them before washing with body stains.Work is based on trying to capture the atmosphere and elements in our wild landscapes, particularly around her studio in the Western Dales, where she runs printmaking and ceramic courses. She is an experienced artist and teacher, to see further examples of her work go to www.penny-hunt.co.uk
Cumbria Printmakers CIO is a Social Enterprise working to champion printmaking through exhibitions, events and outreach activities. The group aims to support artists, promote printmaking and collaborate with our partners and the local community to develop courses and workshops which make printmaking accessible for everyone. Their values of equality, inclusion, sustainability, respect, transparency and supporting local arts drives all that they do.
