The Village

Barningham is a picturesque village on the edge of rolling moor land. It is located to the south of the A66 between Barnard Castle and Scotch Corner. The village is dominated by its huge greens and boasts beautiful views of North Yorkshire and across Teesdale to the Stanhope Moors.

Rooms: Main Hall 36’ x 18’ Meeting Room 16’ x 13’ and there is also a kitchen.

Heating: Available throughout hall

Maximum Capacity: Main Hall – 70 Meeting Room – 20

Facilities: The modern kitchen facilities include fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and cookers. There is a soft play area situated outside the hall that has a soft rubber surface. There are also toilet facilities accessible to all.

Equipment: There are adequate chairs and tables and ample crockery and cutlery is available.

Parking: There is no designated car park but roadside and around the green parking is available.

Access: There is access for all into the hall. An hearing induction loop is in place.

11:00 to 16:00 Traditional Village Fete and Garden Opening to raise funds for Barningham Village Church - St Michael and All Angels.
Traditional Village Fete and Garden Opening to raise funds for Barningham Village Church - St Michael and All Angels. An event for all of the family, held in the gardens of Barningham Park. The day will include Barnard Castle Band, Shirl’s Shakes, Richmond Ice Cream Co, a BBQ lunch, cream teas, a variety of stalls including Just William Hedgerow Products, Cross Lanes Organic Farm, Leaside Cheesemakers, Gingerbread Mam, Richard Laidler Photographic Gifts, plus other stalls selling locally produced cakes, arts and crafts. Plantsman’s Corner situated in Barningham Park’s Kitchen garden will also be open. Additional entertainment for the children will include a bouncy castle, treasure hunt, face painting and a variety of other garden games - including a coconut shy. Guide dogs only please. Admission: £4 for adults, children free. Time: 11:00am until 4:00pm.
